The Ides of March - Review

George Clooney's "The Ides of March" promises a great story and absolutely, 100% delivers. This thriller takes you behind the scenes of the politicians. The lust, the lies, the strategies... this film touches on all.

This is not a common film about side-taking political "wins", it is a compelling movie about trust, seduction and betrayal. We have all experienced some sort of "political finesse" whether it be at work, your personal life or both. We have all received or witnessed some kind of of human drama that involves manipulation. This movie will really hit home for everyone watching.

The cast and directing is outstanding. George Clooney plays a very believable political candidate whom you don't know whether to trust or not. As I said, very believable. Ryan Gosling is not just "eye candy" in this film, his acting shines in his role of press spokesman and I wouldn't be surprised if he were up for more than one award this year. Evan Rachel Wood plays an naive 20 year old who gets caught up in a grown up (political) world and reminds every woman what it was like to be 20 years old. Marisa Tomei casts as a pushy reporter and you'll love to hate her.

I loved this movie and rate it both thumbs way up!

Out in theatres this Friday - 7th October, 2011
